The therapeutic goal of Dr. Chock is to promote mental, physical, and spiritual health for people at each developmental level or personal phase of life. Dr. Chock’s approach to therapy involves Interpersonal Therapy beginning with the client’s values, taking a Reality Therapy approach. He also employs neuropsychological evaluation to assess dementia, learning disabilities, and other brain injury or illness effects. Psychological testing is employed to help clients discern their strengths and liabilities, understand their diagnoses, assess readiness for surgery, and learn coping strategies and mechanisms.

Prior to joining HopeWorks Counseling, Dr. Chock amassed vast experience, including his role as a neuropsychologist at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas for 18 years and as a Christian counselor, testing consultant, and supervisor of counselors-in-training at Minirth-Meier Clinic. He is currently an adjunct professor at Dallas Theological Seminary and has served on several boards, including Board President of Saint Timothy Christian Academy and Advisory Board member of UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program.

Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Chock has been a Dallas resident for over 30 years. He is married with two children and serves as an Associate Pastor at LifePoint Church of Plano, Texas.
