Rhett Smith earned his Master of Divinity and MS in Marital
and Family Therapy degrees from Fuller Theological
Seminary in California after graduating with his BS in
Psychology from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. He is
a licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and is
a member of the American Association for Marriage and
Family Therapists, the Texas Association for Marriage and
Family Therapists and the Dallas Association for Marriage
and Family Therapy. Rhett is also a Family Wellness
instructor and certified Prepare and Enrich Counselor.
Rhett has worked with adolescents, young adults and
families in both clinical and church settings for more than
15 years, and served for seven years as the college pastor
at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. His areas of
specialization include marriage and family issues;
adolescents; emerging adulthood; pastor’s families; issues
related to spiritual identity and journey; and technology,
including transforming effects, boundaries, addictions and
family dynamics.
Rhett is a popular speaker and teacher at churches,
conferences and workshops on issues concerning marriage;
families and youth; technology; ministry; and therapy. He
is a prolific online journalist and contributed the chapter,
"New Media Ministry to the MySpace-Facebook Generation:
Employing New Media Technologies Effectively in
Youth Ministries" to the book, "The New Media Frontier:
Blogging, Vlogging and Podcasting for Christ."
Rhett is an avid writer, blogger and
runner, and enjoys traveling with his family.
