Dr. Nicole Caldwell received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Texas Christian University and her master’s degree in counseling psychology is from Southern Methodist University. She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where she has served as an assistant clinical professor.

Dr. Nicole has extensive experience in a wide variety of therapeutic skills including child, adolescent and family therapy. Her areas of specialty include behavior problems, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-injury, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, adjustment to divorce/loss, attention-deficit, and eating disorders.

Her previous experience includes five years as a staff psychologist for Children’s Medical Center (CMC) in Dallas. During this time, Dr. Nicole was responsible for psychological counseling and testing services associated with inpatient, day treatment and outpatient programs. At CMC, she effectively treated children with depression, anxiety, autism, aspergers, eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, social skills issues and learning disabilities. She also received extensive training in play therapy for children ages 4-11. In private practice since 2001, Dr. Nicole’s clients have included children, adolescents and young adults.

A well-known public speaker, Dr. Nicole is a guest lecturer and presenter in the community on numerous topics. She has made regular appearances on a local CBS morning news program and the national news program World News Now, addressing the psychological impact of community concerns and events. Dr. Nicole also appears on radio programs discussing issues related to parenting education and child/adolescent concerns. She is an expert contributor to the family-friendly websites of iParenting.com and Disneyfamily.com, as well as having been cited in numerous periodicals, including Seventeen and Parents magazines.

Dr. Nicole is active in her local church and donates her therapeutic skills weekly to a non-profit Christian program that serves the homeless family population in the Dallas area.
