  Jackie Agers, M.Ed., LPC

Jackie Agers completed her undergraduate work in Secondary Education, Spanish, Communication and Social Studies at North Texas University. She earned her Master’s of Education in Psychology and Communication at East Central University and completed post-graduate work in counseling psychology at North Texas University, Texas A&M and TWU.

Jackie has more than 20 years of experience in counseling individuals, groups, couples and families at both The Family Resource in Dallas and in private practice. She served as a school counselor and Director of Student Assistance Programs for RISD, confronting intervention and prevention issues such as violence, substance abuse and family disturbance. She is a frequent speaker at local, state and national events and volunteers at Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, where she teaches counseling to client advocates and supervises counseling students.

Jackie specializes in individual and family, interpersonal and addiction-related issues such as chemical dependency, depression, adolescent issues, anger management, family mediation, recovery group addiction healing and Hispanic multicultural issues (with conversational skills in Spanish). She is certified as a Specialist in Crisis Intervention, Mediation, Trauma Management and LPC Intern Supervision. Jackie is also a member of AACC, TCA and TAMFC. She is active in her local church where she sings in the choir. She also enjoys travel, golf, theater and biking.
